I really enjoyed the fish. Reservation on Friday and Saturday is highly recommended.
Elegat, yet cozy, frenchy, yet truly Irish it's one of my favorite restaurants in Dublin. The food is very good - going from the traditional Lamb pie to fancier fish dishes - and never disappointing. It has a very good choice of wines as well.
Ok, I know, this is not a real tip 'cause the Temple Bar is probably the most famous pub in Temple Bar and maybe also in Dublin, but anyway I suggest to come here for a beer and a BLT sandwich with super crunchy bacon seated in one of the small areas outside. Is very cute and there are lots of local people mixed with some tourists. When someone is playing, inside you can listen some Irish music played my young musicians. Have a Guinness or an Irish Coffee (delicious but quite expensive, about 7,50 euro) and then continue to enjoy your walk in Dublin.
I went here for lunch and I had a great club sandwich!
Very nice and crowded French Bistro in Fade Street. In the menu you can find lots of French specialities sometimes revisited with a bench of Irish style. We had a shrimp paté, a fish soup, moules marinieres and a steak both served with the most incredible french fries we ever had. The service is good, friendly and you won't wait long for your dishes. The ambience is a little bit noisy in the dinner time 'cause the restaurant is always crowded, but the romantic dark in the room and the candes light will divert you. All dishes are well presented and they are not very expensive, especially compared to the other restaurants in the same category in Dublin. All the guides said there are no reservations here but what I did is going there a couple of hours in advance and ask book a table for 8.30 PM.. and it worked!
Old Dublin city centre pub very close to the cathedral. Inside is giant with lots of separated and cozy rooms in two levels. Basically every day there's a free concert of traditional music such as in the most part of Dublin's pub. If you want you can also eat traditional Irish food: I had a very good and generous portion of Irish Lamb Stew. Very good and not expensive (but don't forget that Dublin is not a cheap town at all!)
Nice shop were you can find a gift for your friends or even better for you. There are lots of stuff like funny books, nice tea spoons, bowls, clothes, soft scarfs and gloves, etc for women and little girls. Upstairs there's also a man corner but this place is definitely for girls! If you are hungry you can also stop at the café or buy something at the little market were you can find fresh products such as pies, cakes, jellies, and other good things to eat.
In the elegant neighborhood of Ballsbridge, Ariel House, a lovely red brick house, is a perfect spot for a romantic escape in Dublin. Not too far from the city center, in quiet and green surroundings, this guest house is cozy and refined. Comfortable and warm. The Irish breakfast is strong and delicious and all pastries and breads are warm and crispy, served in a lovely bowindow room with a view of the little garden.
