milan - restaurant & food

A good spot near Centrale Station in Milan. A Slowfood restaurand where to enjoy an earthy meal, with a good wine choise and a great cheese selection. Just beware of Parmesan icecream.

This Thai restaurant, not too far from the Navigli, is elegant, sophisticated, upscale and delectable. The decor is colonial, service impeccable, food amazing. In the menu spicy dishes are marked with red peppers. Two red peppers means very very hot. Three are for brave people only. A cocktail is offered upon arriving. Try the fish cooked in the banana leaves, delectable! The banana pudding is my favorite dessert. Toilets deserve a visit.

The particularity of this restaurant is that you eat in a greenhouse. While the food is average, the decor is very pretty. It is also a good spot for gluten intolerant people because they make pizza for celiaci. Outside the greenhouse it is also possible to have an aperitivo among the plants. The place is also a garden center.

This is a Vegan restaurant and wine bar. The ambiance is alternative and warm, but service a bit rough. The food is tasty and they have a good selection of Italian regional wines. Occasionally a psychic makes tarot card reading for free to the customers. Vegan brunch on Sundays. Open until 12 am.

This restaurant has two entrances. One leads to the Pan-Asian restaurant upstairs, the other to the Japanese restaurant on your right. If the first is a very average Chinese-Thai-Viet restaurant, the second, despite the fusion contamination, in my opinion is a very good Japanese. The sushi is fine but the best plates are the cooked ones. Remember to end your meal with a marvelous daifuku, it has fresh strawberries in it!

Very fine restaurant a bit away from the city center. Usual spot for RCS executives. Food is lovely, service good, and the outside garden spacious and pleasant.

I like the cozy ambiance of this lovely pizzeria. Tables might be a bit too close one to the other, but the service is fine, the food is good, and during summer you can eat outside in the small but pleasant garden.

In Milan most of the Mexican restaurants are noisy and expensive. This one - except Fridays and Saturdays - is relaxed and not too expensive. The food is very good, they also serve very interesting lunch menus. The ambiance is picturesque and a bit kitsch, but in the end funny.

If you are curious about Moldavian cuisine this family restaurant will help you know it better. Gulash, regional appetizers (a bit similar to Greek ones) and a very professional ambiance contribute to a pleasant night out.

Typical Bavarian Brewery in the heart of Porta Romana in the Milano city center. Good beers (excellent Weiss beer), hot pretzels, many different wurst, spazli etc... in a crowded and alive ambiance. Reservation is a must. Sometime small party are merged in a single long table.
