One of the best steak I've ever had in my life. The problem with Peter Luger is that it's always crowded and you'll have to reserve a table months in advance.
The Brooklyn branch of the great Tribeca restaurant/pie place has probably the best location ever. Nested between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, right in front of DUMBO park, huge windows and high ceilings let you appreciate the view. If you pick a table at the corner towards the river, you can spend your dinner/lunch/brunch discussing which bridge is the best and why you are not ready to move to Brooklyn yet. Ah, and the food is great, too.
Their spacy years are over, and your friends move from manhattan to brooklyn. You don't get why, but then you go visit and find indeed pleasant, quite and cozy (well, boerum hill at least) streets with hidden gems like this one. It's the neighborhood pub you would like to live close by, and it is a landmark around here.

Nice play to stay for a drink.
